Summary

Project Worth is a City of San Antonio Metro Health program that promotes health and well-being among San Antonio youth through education, collaboration, and empowerment.

Powered by the Project Worth program, DreamSA is an online platform and community youth engagement initiative that serves to educate, connect, and empower youth in San Antonio to reach their dreams.

The purpose of this evaluation is to assess Project Worth’s DreamSA Youth Engagement Initiative and website www.idreamsa.com through focus groups, interviews, and surveys of youth between ages 11 to 19 years old, staff of community-based youth serving organizations promoted via DreamSA, other youth serving City departments, and middle and high school staff.

Anticipated deliverables

  1. One youth focused narrative report, including methods of evaluation, key informant interviews, findings of evaluation including answers to the following questions:
  • What are the best ways to communicate with teens to promote resources? (Digitally and in-person)
  • What would make the website more appealing and useful to Teens? (i.e. look, features, etc)
  • How can the DreamSA website be more interactive
  • What could change or be improved about the website layout?
  • What types of resources are missing that could be useful?
  • How could resource navigation be improved?
  • Where/Who/How do they get their resources they need currently?
  • How does the way they get their resources compare to the DreamSA website?
  1. One adult (youth-serving) focused report, including methods of evaluation, key informant interviews, findings of evaluation including answers to the following questions:
  • Best ways to communicate with teens? (Digitally and in-person)
  • What would make the website more appealing and useful to Teens? (i.e. look, features, etc)
  • What would make the website more useful to youth-serving organizations?
  • What could change or be improved about the website layout?
  • What types of resources are missing that could be useful?
  • How could resource navigation on the website be improved?
  • How do the adults go about getting resources for the youth they work with?
  1. A Cumulative report summarizing findings, themes, and key differences across both youth evaluation and adult (youth-serving) evaluations, and recommendations for improvement of website and engagement strategies.

A virtual Q&A session will be scheduled with the sponsoring department; invitations will be sent to those who register interest through the form on this page. Specific requirements for task-level activities (focus groups, surveys, interviews) have been identified and will be shared with interested parties.
